Paper, polypropylene, or vinyl?
While other materials are used when printing on something adhesive, paper, polypropylene, and vinyl are by far the most common. Here are some of their pros and cons.
Paper
Paper materials tend to be the most budget-friendly choice for printing stickers and labels. They also come in sustainable variations, made from recycled materials, if environmental impact is important to you. Knowing that, paper substrates are our least durable option and ideal for lighter-use applications.
Polypropylene
This material is highly versatile, water-resistant, and less expensive than other synthetic options (i.e. polyester or vinyl). Its moderate durability makes it perfect for indoor or short-term outdoor applications. You’ll commonly see this type of label on food packaging, bottles, and shipping labels.
Vinyl
When it comes to superior flexibility, durability, and weatherproof performance, vinyl substrates are the top choice. Vinyl is also perfect for custom shapes and offers removable adhesive for clean, residue-free removal.
**Keep in mind that Vinyl tends to be pricier compared to the other materials.
Wondering about lamination?
Adding a thin protective layer over your stickers, labels, or decals can go a long way in boosting durability and weather resistance. But that’s not all- it also enhances the overall look and feel.
Gloss lamination brings a sleek, high-shine finish that enhances color intensity- ideal for bold, vibrant designs.
Matte lamination, in contrast, delivers a soft, velvety texture that creates a sophisticated, muted look- perfect for a more subtle and polished presentation.
Sheets or rolls?
You’ve picked your substrate, but would you prefer your stickers, labels, or decals in sheets or on rolls? We can give you some help with that.Β

Sheets
Pressed for time? Sheets offer one of the fastest ways to print your stickers, labels, or decals. They’re budget-friendly, simple to use, and don’t take up much room. Perfect for small production runs and tight deadlines.

Rolls
Stickers, labels, or decals on a continuous backing that is then rolled onto a cardboard cylinder. This format is perfect for fast and easy application, whether you’re doing it by hand or using a machine.
